Step 1: On your Windows PC, launch the Disk Management tool. You can either find it via the Start Menu or by right-clicking on the My Computer icon and choosing the Manage option. There is another way to launch this tool as well. It is via the use of Command Prompt. Simply launch CMD and input 鈥渄ksmgmt.msc鈥 or 鈥渃ompmgmt.msc and press Enter.

Step 2: Once the Disk Management tool is launched, browse and find the disk that you want to partition. To select, right-click on the partition. It will open a set of options. From those options, click on Shrink Volume.

Step 3: Next, use the pop-up window that will appear to modify the space that you want to shrink. Follow the on-screen instructions to do this and once you are done, click on the Shrink button on the same pop-up window to confirm your action.

Step 4: After the above step, an unallocated space will appear in your selected disk. You can use this space to create a new partition. To do this, right-click on the unallocated space and click New Simple Volume from the list of options. Now simply follow the wizard to set the required space for the new partition as well as format it so it can be detected and used by the operating system.

Step 5: You can repeat the above step to create as many partitions as you want as long as there is unallocated space available.
