If you have been following the news regarding the latest iOS 11.3 that just had its launch a few days ago, then you probably might have heard of the much-coveted and highly rumored theater mode or dark mode feature.
However, there are a lot of rumors floating around this feature and as such, the fact that iPhone and iPad users will not be able to access it may still be up for grabs.
Nevertheless, theater mode on Apple Watch is simply a “Do not Disturb” mode on your iPhone. Essentially, if you are watching a movie in the cinema, you can easily enable this mode on your watch. This will consequently disable the ‘raise to wake’ feature. As such, you will not get distracted if you lift your wrist or adjust your arms.
New updates in iOS 11.3 theater mode
Just to give you a bit of background information, theater mode was essentially thought to be a ‘Dark Mode’ feature.
However, with the latest update, there does not seem to be a dark mode feature as such. This is because Dark Mode was rumored to allow the users switch their phone screens to a darker theme while watching videos.
This is quite amusing as theater mode, which is presumably an inferior version of Dark Mode, simply allows you to watch movies in the theater without any distraction while wearing your Apple watch.
With WWDC 2017 approaching, it is unlikely that a system wide Dark Mode feature will be released until the next update of iOS.
3 hot reviews about the new changes in iOS 11.3 for this mode
Currently, there is not much news regarding the new feature. The new theater mode feature in Apple watch is essentially aimed at theater lovers who like to take their Apple watches to the cinema while watching their favorite movies.
As of now, the theater mode does nothing more than what has already been mentioned.
However, the absence of such a mode in Apple’s other devices has been met with disappointment since it was rather a long desired feature for all Apple enthusiasts.
How to enable Theatre Mode?
Although the feature is only available on Apple Watch, and it is not the expected Dark Mode feature that we all wanted, we can however, still turn on the Dark Mode feature on our phones.
Nevertheless, this dark mode feature does not allow you to watch videos in a darker theme. Rather, it will let you read articles and other content on your iPhones and iPads with a dark black background and a soft white font color.
Step 1: Open up any article on Safari and then tap on the Reader Mode icon on the top left corner.
Step 2: Tap the A icon on the URL bar toward the right.
Step 3: From the drop-down menu, tap on the black circle on the right.
