So, your iPhone is locked and you lost or forgot your passcode. Before you panic, this happens a lot and the reasons are many and varied. But at the moment we are sure you are worried about all the data on that iPhone and how you can get it back. Worry not! This article will guide you through the process of getting your data back.
It is however important to note before we begin that if you have forgotten your passcode, there is no way to save data that hasn’t been backed up. You will need to erase the device completely which will result in the loss of any data that was not included in an iCloud or iTunes backup.
1 Erase and Recover Data on a Locked iPhone via iTunes
If you had backed up your data on iTunes, you can erase the device and then restore the data on the iTunes backup. Follow these simple steps to do it.
Step 1: Connect the iPhone to your computer and then open iTunes. When asked for a passcode, try using anther computer or use recovery mode.
Step 2: wait for iTunes to sync your device and create a backup. Once the process is complete, click “Restore iPhone.”
Step 3: Follow the instructions until you get to the Set Up screen and the tap “Restore from iTunes Backup.” Select the device in iTunes and then choose a relevant backup to restore the device.
2 Selectively Recover Data from Locked iPhone via iTunes

Step 2: Click on “All Devices” and then select the device you want to erase, in this case the iPhone. Click on “Erase your Device and it’s passcode.”
Step 3: Choose to “Restore the device from a backup’ or “set up as new” and select the iCloud backup you wish to restore the device to.
4 Selectively Recover Data from Locked iPhone via iCloud
Step 1: Launch iMyfone D-Back and this time select “Recover from iCloud Backup” and click “Start.” Once again, select the type of data you wish to recover.
Step 2: Sign in to your iCloud account and you will see all the iCloud backup files on that account in the next window. Select the one that contains the data you want to recover and click “Next.”
