User Guide of iMyFone D-Back for Mac

iMyFone D-Back provides users with easy procedures to thoroughly search for your lost data. Do you not remember whether you have backup files for your lost iPhone data? Do you have absolutely no clue where to find your files? If so, the "Smart Recovery" mode on iMyFone D-Back for Mac is tailored for you.

 

Mode 1: Smart Recovery

Step 1: Choose Smart Recovery Mode

Open the program after installing it on your Mac. There are four tabs on the left side. Click the "Start" from Smart Recovery tab.

Step 2: Select the Data Loss Situation

Then, you will be asked to choose how you lost your data. The program has already classified all the different situations into four categories.

Step 3: Scan and Search Your iPhone Data

iMyFone D-Back for Mac will do all the recovery work. According to your selection at the beginning, the program will smartly scan and search your data on iOS device, iTunes backup and iCloud Backup, which greatly reduces your energy and time on recovery efforts. The following specific recovery procedures are similar with the respective tab "recover from iOS Device", "recover from iTunes backup" and "recover from iCloud backup".

 

Mode 2: Recover Data from iOS Device

Step 1: Select the Lost File Type and Connect Your iOS Device

At the "Recover From iOS Device" tab, click "Start" to start recovery.

Then select the file types you need to recover.

Then you will be asked to connect your iOS Device to your Mac. After connecting successfully, click "Scan" to search your data. Please wait a few moments.

Step 2: Preview and Recover the Lost Data from iOS Device

The found file types will be displayed on the left side of the interface, and you can click each type to preview the specific content.

After previewing, the program allows you to select the specific data to recover. Click "Recover" and select or create a folder as the recovery path where you can review your recovered data.

Mode 3: Recover Data From iTunes Backup

Step 1: Select iTunes Backup and Scan Data from It

Click "Start" from "Recover from iTunes Backup" tab. and select the lost file types.

Then the program will require you to choose one iTunes backup, where you can review your recovered data.

Step 2: Preview and Recover from iTunes Backup

After scanning, all the found data will be shown on the interface. You can preview the specific content and figure out which ones you need. Then, click the "Recover" button and a pop-up window will prompt you to choose a place as the recovery destination where all the selected data will be restored.

Mode 4: Recover Data From iCloud Backup

Step 1: Log in iCloud Account and Download Backup for Scan

Click "Start" from "Recover from iCloud Backup" tab. and select the file types you want.

Next, log into your iCloud account and select the iCloud backup to download.

Step 2: Preview and Recover from iCloud Backup

After scanning, you will find all the scanning results on the interface. Preview them all, or just preview the deleted ones by enabling "Show only the deleted files". Choose a restore location on your Mac for subsequent checking. Then your lost data has been recovered!

Mode 5: Fix Various iOS Issues

Is your iOS device stuck on the Apple Logo, DFU mode, the White/black screen, in a restarting loop? Is it simply frozen and won’t start no matter what you do? The Standard Mode can be used to fix less severe but still debilitating issues like the Apple Logo, black/white screen. Th "Exit Recovery Mode" mode allows you to exit recovery mode in a single click. The final mode, the Advanced Mode is useful in fixing the more severe issues your device may be facing and is commonly used when the Standard Mode fails or you’ve forgotten your device’s passcode.

These simple steps will demonstrate how each mode can be used to fix the device and get it working normally again. But before we begin, the following are just some of the things you need to be aware of:

  1. When you use this solution, your device will be updated to the latest version of iOS;
  2. If your device is jailbroken, you should be aware that it will revert back to its default mode after using this solution;
  3. Any locked device will be unlocked after using this function.

Open iMyFone D-Back on your computer and from the main window, select “Fix iOS System.” Before selecting any mode, connect the deice to the computer using USB cables.

1. Fix iOS Issues without Data Loss Using the Standard Mode

Once the device is connected, select the “Standard Mode” and the program will ask that you put your device in DFU or Recovery Mode before the process can begin.

Step 1. Put the Device in DFU Mode / Recovery Mode

Click “Start” and a countdown will begin. Now, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for 8-10 seconds. Release the Sleep/Wake button but continue to hold the Home button for about 5 seconds.

If the device fails to go into DFU mode, you can try putting it in recovery mode. To do this, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home buttons at the same time but don’t release them when you see the Apple Logo. Instead, keep holding them until you see the “Connect to iTunes” icon on the screen.

Step 2. Download the Firmware

When the device is in DFU or Recovery Mode, you will need to download the new firmware on your device. The program has already detected the necessary firmware, all you have to do is click “Download” to install the firmware.

Note: You can also choose the device model manually if the program fails to detect the device.

Step 3. Fix Your iOS Issues

Once the firmware download is complete, click “Start to Fix” and the repair process will begin immediately. When the process is complete, try to see if the device will start, if it doesn’t, start the process afresh.

If the fixing failed, you can retry the Standard Mode or try the Advanced Mode to fix the iOS issues.

2. Exit Recovery Mode in a Single Click

Connect your device to the computer and then choose “Exit Recovery Mode” option.

Step 1. Simply click “Exit” and the repair process will begin immediately.

If the deice fails to exit recovery mode, please try again or try using the Standard Mode to fix the device.

3. Use the Advanced Mode to Reinstall Your iOS

The Advanced Mode is ideal if the issue you are facing is severe or the Standard Mode fails to fix the problem. In the main menu, click on “Advanced Mode.” The process is the same as the Standard Mode. But all the data on your device will be erased by using Advanced Mode.
